Course Memo

This course capitals on the 1st year MOD- I course understanding the fundamental principles underlying the mechanisms of disease. The course material focuses on the basic reactions of cells and tissues to injury that and how dysregulation of the major processes and mechanisms that sustain normal cell function and homeostasis leads to disease. Topics in this course include-but are not limited to- cell cycle, cellular adaptation and cellular death, inflammation and repair, hemodynamic disorders, genetic basis of disease, infectious diseases, pharmacodynamics, inborn errors of metabolism, autoimmunity, and environmental and nutritional impact in disease prevention.
